psalm 1 is one of my favorite passages in scripture. when we plant ourselves near the river of God's grace and wisdom there is predictability for our lives. but when we take advice from the world or the wicked we are easily manipulated and blown around by the trends and fads and philosophies of the day. it's sort of like with the Creation account. we may not understand it, but God's word has proven itself reliable. myspace and wikipedia not as much.

excellent, excellent. The Bible may have been written by man but was commisioned by God. Myspace, wikipedia, modern science, maybe not so much.

I agree. I think that no matter what we are told, we have to realize that God is still behind good things that happen. I also like Psalms 2 because it gives an account of God's power, which can oftentimes be forgotten about. At least he's on our side!

I like these two passages alot. Especially the concept of happiness seen throughout, of how Christians take joy from following the law of the Lord, which to me just sounds great all around. I also love Psalm 2:4 "He who sits in the heavens laughs; the LORD has them in derision." This is yet another sign of the Lord's infinite power, he sits in heaven and LAUGHS at the kings who wish to go against him, there powerless. It's really a beautiful idea, no one can do anything to hinder the Lord and the wonderful things he does for the Earth.

I agree with Sammy, reading people praising God and singing of his great qualities is so reassuring. The Psalms seem to always show a merciful and loving God in them.
